ANOTHER major event that was due to take place locally on St Patrick’s Day has been postponed due to the coronavirus.
In the interests of public health and to further minimise large gatherings of people, Aware and Dublin Port Company have decided to postpone the annual St Patrick’s Day Harbour2Harbour fundraising walk, including the ‘Halfway Hooley’ at Dublin Port.
The event, which last year attracted over 1,800 participants, will be rescheduled for a later date in the autumn.
The Harbour2Harbour Walk, which encourages participants to walk from Howth Harbour to Dun Laoghaire Harbour (or the reverse journey) is one of Aware’s most important fundraising events and has raised more than €840,000 for the charity since it began in 2006.
Aware would like to thank everyone who had already registered to take part and is encouraging people to continue to support the event when rescheduled.
Tickets already purchased for the walk will be valid for the new date when announced. If, for any reason, ticket holders wish to obtain a refund before then, please contact Aware at fundraising@aware.ie
