DISCOUNT retailer Dealz has raised a phenomenal €404,350 in aid of Make-A-Wish Ireland since the charity partnership commenced in 2011.
The funds raised by Dealz colleagues and customers have helped grant the wishes of children living with life-threatening medical conditions throughout the year and will continue into 2020.
Since its inception in 1992, Make-A-Wish has granted wishes for more than 2,500 brave children across Ireland, including 211 wishes granted in 2018 alone.
Make-A-Wish child ambassador Tom O’Leary, from North Dublin, had his wish granted to visit Santa’s Village with his family last Christmas at the age of eight.
Tom and his family stayed in a log cabin, drove snowmobiles, went on reindeer and husky rides, drank warm berry juice, decorated gingerbread and made snow angels.
This year saw Dealz colleagues and customers take part in a series of fundraising activities including ‘The Tough Mudder’ challenge, where Dealz staff set themselves a real challenge, tested their teamwork and conquered best-in-class obstacles, raising a staggering €30,000 for Make-A-Wish.
