FOUR Fingal cyclists are celebrating after pulling off an incredible achievement for charity.
Scott Cumisky, Eoghan Liston, Sean Herlihy and Terry Mockler succeeded in their attempt to cycle non-stop individually from Mizen to Malin, the lowest possible point in Ireland to the very top of the country (620km) on one continuous cycle.
After leaving Mizen Head on the morning of Saturday, September 7, the intrepid quartet arrived at Malin Head the following evening following 24 hours of cycling.
The cycle, dubbed ‘The Sleepless Night’, was in aid of two very worthwhile children’s charities – Aoife’s Clown Doctors and Aoibheann’s Pink Tie.
These two charities support and provide financial, practical and emotional support to families and children battling cancer in Ireland. The cyclists were also promoting the services of irishblood.ie
By their own admission, the lads are not super fit athletes, just everyday dads who put themselves way beyond their comfort zone for charity!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and you can still support this fundraiser at https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-sleepless-night
