Swords woman triumphs

A NORTHSIDE woman will represent Ireland in this year’s Miss Universe competition. 

Fionnghuala O’Reilly, from Swords, was crowned winner of Miss Universe Ireland 2019 in the Mansion House. She walked away with over €70,000 worth of prizes which includes a year’s supply of hair and make-up treatments as well as all expenses paid trips to New York, Miami and South Korea.

Fionnghuala wowed with her poise, passion and intelligence and was named unanimously as the winner by the esteemed panel of judges.

Miss Universe Ireland 2018 winner, Gráinne Gallanagh presented her 2019 successor with the coveted Miss Universe Ireland crown and sash alongside Managing Director, Brittany Mason.

Speaking at the event, Ms Mason said: “This year has been a fantastic one for Miss Universe Ireland and I couldn’t be prouder of all of these strong, independent and beautiful women. 

“Fionnghuala will be a wonderful ambassador for Ireland in the Miss Universe competition and I cannot wait to see what she will achieve. We’ll be behind her every step of the way.” 

Fionnghuala will represent Ireland in the international competition on December 19 in South Korea where she will compete against women all over the world in the hope of becoming Miss Universe.
