BALBRIGGAN locals are being urged to get involved in a public consultation process for a new plan for their town.

This is a very exciting time in Balbriggan, which is to get €22.8 million for a Socio-Economic Strategy

Local councillors Tony Murphy (Ind), Grainne Maguire (Ind) and Malachy Quinn (SF) have delivered the opportunity and now the Balbriggan regeneration strategy is going to the public consultation phase, and it’s time for the public to have their say.

The launch of the public consultation will take place on Monday, November 26 (5.30pm-7pm) at the Bracken Court Hotel.

There will be an opportunity for the public to make suggestions and comment on how their town should be developed into the future from a community perspective, at times and venues that will be publically advertised.

There will be leaflet drops into every house in Balbriggan giving information and details on times and venues. There are also social media platforms being created for people to engage online.

Cllr Maguire, Cllr Quinn and Cllr Murphy emphasised the importance of local people engaging in the public consultation stage of the process, using the slogan: ‘Our town is your town’.

“It’s important to acknowledge the work of the Fingal County Council officials, the Leadership group, Pillar Chairs, and Professor Brian McGrath,” they said. According to the last census, Balbriggan is one of the fastest growing towns in the country.
