MUSIC fans have been warned that public drinking, criminal activity and anti-social behaviour will be met with 'zero tolerance' by gardaí during the series of live concerts at Malahide Castle this month.
The hugely anticipated summer gigs kicked off this week with a sold-out show by LCD Soundsystem and will be followed by Kodaline (June 8), Gorillaz (June 9), Liam Gallagher (June 15) and Chic, featuring Nile Rogers (June 16).
Previous concerts at the stunning venue have included Prince, Eric Clapton and Neil Young.
At a media briefing jointly hosted by gardaí and promoters MCD last week, details of traffic restrictions and public transport arrangements were announced.
As traffic and parking delays will be inevitable, concert goers are strongly advised to use public transport to get to and from Malahide.
In a statement, MCD said: “Transport to and from the venue is a matter for individual ticket holders themselves, whether you go by means of car-pooling, DART or coach.
“We strongly urge all concert goers to heed the advices of An Garda Síochána, transport providers and promoters regarding the pre-planning and advance booking of their return trip. Leave plenty of time to get to and from the venue.”
Additional DART services will operate between Malahide and the city centre after the concerts and a direct bus service will run to Dublin, with tickets costing €10.
Those driving have been warned not to park illegally in areas surrounding Malahide Castle or in local housing estates, as vehicles will be clamped or towed.
Gardaí have stressed that they will operate a “zero-tolerance” policy regarding alcohol consumption in public areas and any illegal criminal or anti-social behaviour.
