Drama at The Helix

A MALAHIDE-BASED drama group will stage an Agatha Christie murder mystery at The Helix, DCU next month.

‘And Then There Were None’ is widely considered to be her masterpiece and remains one of the top-selling crime novels of all time.

This will be Stage2theatrecompany’s sixth year performing at the Northside venue.

The play twists and turns in a suspenseful and menacing plot in which 10 strangers are lured to an island on various pretexts tailored to their personal circumstances.

The island is completely cut off by the sea with no sign of any other human civilisation.  Tension builds as a disembodied voice accuses each of their particular crime and as fear and guilt begin to take hold questions begin to be asked…

But who is in charge? Justice seems to be coming, but at whose hand and by what means? Is anybody coming to help?

The fate of those gathered on the island is paralleled in the words of the nursery rhyme, ‘Ten Little Soldiers’, which is placed in the sitting-room alongside 10 figurines.

‘Ten little Soldier Boys went out to dine; one choked his little self and then there were nine.’

The talented cast includes Mary Gamble, Cara Ferguson (pictured right), Rose Minton, Martin Brennan, Desmond Daly and Ger Memery with the welcome addition of newcomers Irina Pilos, Stephen Gorman, Stephen Rixon, Graham Brierton and Christopher Evans-Garrett.

Stage manager Rosemary Minton, lighting designer Conor Burnell, costume designer Charlottle Coleman, PRO Olga Rogers and set designer Daniel Goslin completes the team.

Performances will take place in the Space Theatre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 9, 10 and 11. Spaces are limited so you are advised to book your tickets in advance through the Box Office. Tickets: €18/€15 concessions. Follow on Facebook: St Andrew’s Players and Stage2theatrecompany.
