PORTMARNOCK photographer Michael Hayes had plenty to smile about at this year’s Bank of Ireland IPPA Irish Professional Photographer of the Year Awards.
Michael, whose work featured last month in Northside People in a moving story about Ballymun model Lana Salome Kurasidze, was named as Best Commercial Photographer.
The local snapper was also bestowed with a Fellowship Qualification of the Association, which is the highest award possible.
And that wasn’t all. Michael, who was described as a highly experienced commercial, fine art and portrait photographer by the IPPA, was also named Best Fine Art Photographer and won second place overall at the awards.
The Irish Professional Photographers’ Association presented awards in nine separate categories, promoting the very best in Irish professional photography at the awards ceremony, which took place in Carton House, Maynooth, last month.
The Irish Professional Photographer of the Year Awards is the flagship event of the IPPA calendar and Bank of Ireland sponsors all awards.
