A SPECIAL photographic exhibition has opened at Dublin Airport celebrating 40 years of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Raheny photographer Conor McCabe took on the project for the Cork-based charity. Conor’s project lasted two years, photographing Guide Dog owners and Assistance Dog owners in their homes around the country. His brief was to capture a visual representation of how the partnership between the Guide Dog owner and the Guide Dog helps people with a visual disability to live a far more independent and inclusive life in society.
Conor’s photographs where taken at a number of locations across Ireland including the Hill of Tara, Cobh, Cape Clear, Inis Meáin and Tory Island.
Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is Ireland’s national charity dedicated to helping persons who are blind or vision impaired, and families of children with autism, to achieve improved mobilty and independence.
