A NORTHSIDE sports club is holding a major fundraising event this weekend.

Whitehall Colmcille GAA Club have moved back into the heart of the parish with fantastic new facilities comprising a state-of-the-art pitch, dressing rooms and a gym on Collins Avenue/Swords Road.

The club currently has pitches located in Cloghran on the Old Airport Road and their present clubhouse is further down Collins Avenue.  To fund the next phase of its continued growth the club’s latest fundraising event is a ‘Lip Sync Legends’ fundraiser on May 27 in the Regency Hotel, starting at 8pm.

As part of Lip Sync Legends contestants/volunteers from within Whitehall Colmcille GAA Club and friends from the wider community will be miming and dancing to popular music of their idols

Audience members on the night get to vote for their favourite/best performance.

Club PRO Dympna Cullen said: “It promises to be an amazing night and one that will be talked about for many years to come around the parish.

“The buzz is palpable around the club with members trying to outdo each other to be and look their best on the night.

“Tickets are selling fast and whilst we are doing very well with sponsors/advertisements in our booklet there is always room for more.”

The club will be providing a 100-page programme to commemorate the event, believed to be the first of its kind. Approximately 600 people on the night will see the programme as well as many of their relatives afterwards.

Whitehall Colmcille GAA Club said it has received a huge response and really appreciates everyone’s support so far.
