VIDEO: Coolock and Ballymun in the 1960s

WE SIMPLY can’t get enough of this old archive footage of Northside Dublin in the 1960s.

Shot by firefighter and historian Leslie Crowe, founder of the Lorcan Film Unit, it provides a fascinating snapshot of life in this growing Northside community.

This short clip includes well known locations in Coolock and Ballymun, including the building of the underpass at Northside Shopping Centre and the Sheaf O Wheat pub.
