PORTMARNOCK Athletic Club produced a sensational clean sweep at the recent Dublin Championships in the Under 15 Men’s 200 metres.

Michael Farrelly, Ronan Patterson and Conor Archer took gold, silver and bronze in what was the club’s highlight at a very successful event.

The trio, along with Mark Morris, also took gold in the 4x100m Under 15 relay, while Michael and Conor took gold and bronze respectively in the 100m, confirming the club’s dominance in this age group over the short distances.

And Michael Farrelly was again top of the podium when he took gold in the Under 15 long jump, with Conor Archer taking the bronze.

There was also gold in the Under 13 long jump for Shane Archer, jumping a Personal Best of 4.58 with Joshua Kelly taking bronze in the same event.

Shane and Joshua teamed up with Shane Patterson and Jack O’Connell to win gold in a hotly contested Under 13 4x100m relay.

Further sprint medals went to Alexan Oyeyele – bronze in the Under 12 60m – and James O’Connell – bronze in the Under 16 250m hurdles.

In the Under 14 girls’ section Danielle McFadden came fourth in the long jump and the 80m while in the field events Alannah Byrne won gold in the Under 16 Girls’ javelin.

Sienna Wright and Ellen Morgan took silver in the 300m in the Under 9 team competition.

These latest successes augur well for a club that was only formed in 2012.
