A PREVIEW of the
‘Not Make Do’ Art Exhibition is touring MSL Mercedes-Benz dealerships during May.
This annual exhibition highlights the abilities, talents and artistic skills of people with an intellectual disability attending the Daughters of Charity Day Service.
This is the eleventh year of the exhibition which is held annually in Civic Offices, Wood Quay and is the first time the artists’ work will be shown at a pre-show at MSL Motor Group.
Brendan Grace Managing Director MSL Motor Group said:
“The Daughters of Charity do tremendous work in the community and we are happy to do anything we can to promote the work of the people they support. We are hosting a preview of the exhibition because we want to increase our customers’ awareness of the talents of the artists together with the great work of the Daughters of Charity Service.
“The
‘Not Make Do’ Exhibition was born out of a desire to promote excellence, individuality and achievement. As the title implies the wish was to extend the artists beyond what was expected and what was normally accepted.

Daughters of Charity spokesperson, Maureen Dunne said:
“In these difficult financial times we rely heavily on the exhibition to generate much needed funds. All monies raised will be used to improve our service and offer new opportunities for our service users.
It is important we acknowledge the very positive contribution that people with intellectual disability make to Irish society and to the art world.
“There’s no better place to host an art exhibition than in a car show room flooded with natural light. We would like to thank MSL Mercedes-Benz for allowing us to preview our work here and giving our art such prominence in their showroom.
