Every day across the globe, billions of Emojis are sent between phones, laptops and all sorts of digital messaging devices. But what is the significance of a face crying with laughter, a pair of clapping hands, or even a smiling pile of poo? Taking place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of May between 1pm and 5.30pm in Trinity College Dublin’s Science Gallery, members of the public are invited to donate some time to the emergent body of research related to emoji uses at various experiment booths.

REUNION NIGHT at tamangos
Dublin’s Northside was jumping to a happy beat when Tamangos was the heartbeat of everybody’s weekend. Responsible for many relationships and love affairs, some are still going strong today having met over cold chicken & chips, slow sets, music and guys in white socks. The famous Tamango Tuesday oldies’ nights ran for over 25 years with DJ Jim Kenny on the decks. On Sunday June 3, there will be the first ever North Dublin club reunion to bring everybody back for one more night on the dancefloor, at Tamangos in Sands Hotel, Portmarnock.
