Dublin Derby night
After the brilliant atmosphere at Dalymount Park for the season’s opening day clash between Bohs and Rovers, another night of excitement is anticipated when the Gypsies take on Southside rivals, St Pat’s at 7.45pm on Friday, March 9. Across the city, Rovers will be taking on Derry in Tallaght at 8pm on the same night in another tasty Premier Division clash.
In the First Division, Friday night games in the city see Cabinteely taking on Cobh Ramblers and UCD are up against Galway United.
Malahide photography
Malahide Camera Club’s annual photography exhibition will run until March 10 at the Parish Centre (beside the DART station) in the town.
From small beginnings Malahide Camera Club has grown into one of the most successful in Ireland and the exhibition will be well worth a visit to see the members’ work on display.
Raheny table quiz
Raheny table quiz
A table quiz, run by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Springdale National School, Raheny, will take place on Friday, March 9 at The Cedars Pub, Raheny.
The cost is €40 per table (maximum of four per table). A raffle will also be held. You can register a team on the night.
One Enchanted Evening
The Glasnevin Musical Society is returning to the Axis Theatre in Ballymun with a performance of ‘One Enchanted Evening’ on Saturday, March 10 at 8pm.
It’s the group’s 60th Anniversary and it will be a great night of musical favourites – some old, some new – proudly presented by the Chorus and Soloists of GMS with Musical Director David Wray. The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost €15 from axisballymun.ie or call 01-8832100.
Women’s rugby
It’s a Six Nations weekend coming up and while many fans will be following the fortunes of the men, Ireland’s final home game of the Women’s Six Nations against Scotland takes place at 1pm at Donnybrook Stadium on Sunday, March 11. Tickets cost from €10 with a discount for a family of four. COYGIG.
The Carole Nash RIAC Classic Car Show
The 4th RIAC National Classic Car Show will be held in the prestigious Royal Dublin Society’s Simmonscourt Hall at Ballsbridge, Dublin on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday March 11 from 10am to 6pm on both days.
The theme of the 2018 Show will be ‘Celebrating Italian Car Design’ and many of the feature displays will exhibit a wide variety of Italian marques from the smallest makes to the most prestigious of Italian Supercars.

Five Lamps Arts Festival
There will be 43 events across 15 venues at this year’s Five Lamps Arts Festival, which takes place from March 7-11.
