EBS Christmas Concert
On Wednesday December 13 at 8pm, the choirs of Dublin Choral Foundation, The Lassus Scholars and Piccolo Lasso, will present The ESB ‘Great’ Christmas Concert 2017 at the National Concert Hall. The concert celebrates the success of Ireland’s foremost musical festival, Feis Ceoil, founded in 1897.
On this special occasion The Lassus Scholars and Piccolo Lasso, with conductor Dr Ite O’Donovan, will be joined by the Orlando Chamber Orchestra, under leader Gillian Williams. Tickets priced €13-€35 are available from the NCH Box Office, www.nch.ie or call 01-4170000
Clontarf Cowboy
A night of great entertainment is promised this weekend when the Clontarf Cowboy rides back into town.
Philip Donnelly will be appearing in a show – ‘Wear Something Red’ – at Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club this Saturday, December 16. Special guest is Sean Deegan. Doors open at 8pm. Show starts at 8.30pm. Tickets cost €15.
Christmas concerts in Swords
The Lambay Singers will perform a Christmas concert on Friday, December 15 at 8pm in St Colmcille’s Church, Swords. Tickets cost €10 and are available now, or payment can be made at the door.
The group will also perform at 3pm and 5pm at Swords Castle on Sunday, December 17; and December 19 and 21 at Arrivals at T2, Dublin Airport.
Coolock Walking Club
A community walk catering for all ages and levels of fitness takes place every Tuesday at 9.45am in the Stardust Memorial Park, Coolock.
Parents, grandparents and strollers are welcome after the school drop-off. No booking needed. Just turn up and join them for a walk.

Malahide Castle Christmas Experience
The magical Malahide Castle Christmas Experience is back. This is where visitors can meet Santa, Mrs Claus and special guests Jack Frost, Snow Queen and Tinkerbell for a wonderful journey through the enchanted and historical Malahide Castle.
Families are welcomed by castle hosts and Santa’s elves before being brought to Mrs Claus as she relaxes by the fire. She likes to meet all the children before they see the main man, Santa! Ice Skating Blanchardstown
Running since 2014, Ice Skating Blanchardstown takes place in a stunning 1,000 sq mt ice rink that’s located next to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre
All levels of experience are catered for on the rink from beginners to advance skaters. There’s a large main rink and a separate rink for kids aged 3-10 years, which is always supervised, while the Penguin Club will help little ones find their ice legs. Winter Wild Lights
Dublin Zoo’s new winter Wild Lights experience features giant colourful lanterns and illuminated sculptures, inspired by wildlife.
An enchanted lantern trail through the zoo is lit up with beautifully crafted silk lanterns in the form of a pride of lions, orang-utans, tigers, giraffe, monkeys and other wildlife.
Highlights also include a 16-metre high porcelain elephant tower and a 30-metre long Chinese dragon.
Visitors will be entertained by Chinese performers and can enjoy themed food and warm drinks at a marketplace selling handmade crafts from Chinese artisans.
Tickets cost €20 for adults and €15 for children and have to be bought in advance online from dublinzoo.ie.
Polly and the Beanstalk
X Factor Sensations Sean and Conor Price are special musical guests in this year's Olympia Theatre panto, Polly and the Beanstalk. They’ll join the all-star cast that includes hilarious Rory Cowan, Dustin the Turkey, Fair City's Ryan Andrews and RTE's Sorchio star Michaela O'Neill.
