ALL 800 current pupils of the Billie Barry Stage School will be performing as part of the ‘Her Stars Will Shine’ tribute to Billie Barry in the Gaiety Theatre from October 17 – 21.
The show was devised as a tribute to the late Billie Barry and will celebrate the life of this fantastic lady in her beloved Gaiety Theatre.
‘Her Stars Will Shine’ is a spectacular, action-packed variety entertainment show for all the family.
It will feature all 800 of the school’s current students, aged from three years to 23, who will combine their talents for this very special production.
Special guests will include the hilarious June Rodgers in her latest comedic guises, Samantha Mumba, West End star Louise Bowden and the wonderfully talented Keith Hanna.
The show will also feature an eight-piece live orchestra under the baton of musical director, Peter Beckett.
Ryan Hargadon, grandson of the late Billie Barry, will play saxophone.
The show promises to delight audiences of all ages with scenes from ‘School of Rock’, ‘La La Land’, ‘Newsies’, ‘Motown the Musical’ and ‘42nd Street’ as well as the wonderful music of Prince, disco favourites Chic, Ska band Madness and lots more.
The show is produced, directed and choreographed by Lorraine Barry with Peter Beckett as musical director, Louise Bowden as choreographer and production assistant Robyn Hargadon.
Founded in 1964, The Billie Barry Stage School (one of the oldest stage schools in Europe) is the only school of its kind to stage a week-long production at the Gaiety Theatre.
The Billie Barry Stage School has been running for 53 years – an incredible milestone from such humble beginnings and a testament to its founder, the legendary Billie Barry.
Following in the tradition of staging live performances, ‘Her Stars Will Shine - A Tribute to Billie Barry’ will run from October 17 to 21 at The Gaiety Theatre.
