Omniplex Secret Screenings

Omniplex Secret Screenings give cinema fans the chance to see a major new film before it goes on general release but just like every good film plot, there is a twist.  With only the genre of the film known in advance, moviegoers will be comfortably seated with treats in hand and literally in the dark until the opening credits start to roll.

The next event takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 7, at 6.30pm at Omniplex in Rathmines and it’s an action thriller. Tickets are priced at

?¬10 each and the cost includes a medium popcorn and drink. Secret Screenings are available to book online exclusively to MyOmniplex members aged 16 years and over.

Rush Harbour Festival

Great excitement is promised at this year’s Rush Harbour Festival, which will take place in the Harbour Park from Friday, August 4 to Monday, August 7.

There will be plenty to do and see for children and adults alike and lots of free events for kids including sand sculpting, circus skills and drumming workshops.

The festival organisers are looking forward to welcoming residents of the town, as well as visitors from near and far, to this year’s event over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Beatyard

Beatyard returns to Dún Laoghaire Harbour over the August Bank Holiday Weekend (August 5 and 6). Featuring headliners, Mark Ronson and Air, along with other artists like Banarama, Morcheeba, Fish Go Deep and Mr Fingers, it’s set to be one heck of a party!

The famous Just Eat Yard returns too, so there’ll most definitely be something there to tickle your taste buds over the weekend.

Wild AIR Run

Expect a 5k run like no other at the Wild AIR Run at Marlay Park on Saturday, August 5.

It’s a fun, bouncy, challenge of your fitness and determination…and weirdly, because it’s so fun, the 5k won’t even feel like a 5k.

There will be ten blow-up challenges for you to tackle, like the ominously titled The Drop, or the Maze Runner, which comes with water spraying you at every turn. There’s a life-sized pinball machine, a moon walk and a super scream, which makes every other slide you’ve ever been on look like a piece of cake. At the Wild AIR Run, you will feel (and most importantly, act) like a superhero.

The Wild AIR Run is the perfect summer family day out – kids over 7 can participate, so you can be put to shame by your daring younger relatives.

There’s various start times throughout the day from 10am-6pm. The cost is

?¬32.50 per adult,

?¬18.50 for kids aged 7-17 accompanied by an adult or

?¬80 for a family of two adults and two children.
