Dublin Kite Festival
The Dublin Kite Festival takes place from 11am to 4pm on Sunday June 18 at North Bull Island, Clontarf. There’ll be music on site from 98FM and Pure Magic, a kite maker competition, children’s entertainment and kite making workshops.
There’s also flight demonstrations by master kite flyers, buggy and land-kiting demonstrations by professional riders and lots of tricks from kite experts to amaze. Full details at www.dublinkitefestival.ie.
Taste of Dublin
This year’s Taste of Dublin food festival line-up features 20 top restaurants, 30 world-class chefs, 160 interactive masterclasses and Irish and International experts giving ‘Food for thought’ talks about the topics on everyone’s lips
Returning to Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens from Thursday June 15 to Sunday June 18 ‘Food for Thought’ is a new feature with more than 30 talks, Q&A’s and interviews from some of Ireland’s favourite chefs and industry experts. Throw in whiskey masterclasses from Teelings, cooking with Flavours of the World from Anna Haugh and the Big Fat Taste Quiz panel experience and you have an informative and entertaining feature that visitors won’t want to miss. Dublin Pride
Events for the Dublin Pride Festival begin this week starting with Girls’ Night at Outhouse on Capel Street where there’ll be an evening of music, good food and drinks along with ‘make & do’ decoration making for the Dublin Pride Parade. On Friday Ireland’s national LGBT magazine and website, GCN, will be relaunched at 6pm in Pantibar on Capel Street while at 7.30pm there’s the 5k Dublin Pride Run at Acres Road in Phoenix Park. Skerries Midsummer Festival 2017
The Skerries Midsummer Festival will take place from June 15-18. Al Porter will open the festival with a comedy night in the festival marquee on June 15.
The festival will feature a variety of events including music, comedy, sporting and family activities.

Bloomsday in the ‘Monto’
The North Inner City Folklore Project & H.O.P.E. will host Bloomsday in the ‘Monto’ on Friday, June 16.
It’s an afternoon of theatre and afternoon tea in Liberty House Park, Foley Street, Dublin 1 on Bloomsday. It starts at noon, sharp. The event is free of charge and open to all.
Foley Street was called Montgomery Street and this gave the name to the small area just west of Connolly Station that was once Europe’s most infamous red-light district, the ‘Monto’.
Portmarnock Family Fun Day
A Family Fun Day will take place in Portmarnock this Saturday, June 17 from 11am to 4pm.
This is the fourth year of the event, which was set up by the Portmarnock Village Traders’ Association to encourage people to shop and support local businesses.
Attractions on the day will include a talk on the history of Portmarnock by local historian Gary Ahern, live traditional music, children’s entertainment, BBQ, demonstrations of outdoor exercise classes, crafts with Portmarnock Girl Guides, a Portmarnock Art Group exhibition and an annual Tug ‘O’ War competition between Naomh
The Irish Chamber Orchestra

Joycean Cabaret
Buswells Hotel on Molesworth Street will host a Joycean Cabaret by Bethencourt Productions that will see Master of Ceremonies, Leonor Bethencourt, bringing artists together to delight audiences with multi-disciplinary artistic performances inspired by the life and works of James Joyce.
Featuring music, dance, comedy, Ulyssean surprises and a quiz, the event on Sunday June 18 kicks off at 4pm.

Bark in the Park
The Irish Blue Cross will host their 10th annual Bark in the Park sponsored walks in Marlay Park Rathfarnham on Sunday, June 18.
Following a special paw-printed route around the beautiful surroundings of Marlay Park, supporters of the Irish Blue Cross animal welfare charity and dog lovers alike will enjoy music, goody bags, face-painting, a raffle and lots of laughs and barks from 3pm.
There will also be competitions for the Dog with the Best Bark, Waggiest Tail, Happiest Smile and Shiniest Coat.
