MUSIC: Acclaimed jazz and blues singer is back

Susie Kennedy is back on stage in Clontarf.

SUSIE Kennedy may have been out of the spotlight for some time but that is all about to change as the acclaimed jazz and blues singer takes centre-stage at the Viking Theatre, Clontarf from January 5 to 14 in her brand new show.

‘As Time Goes By’ features songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Bessie Smith, Sophie Tucker and many others. Susie also explores the ups and downs, the hilarity and the challenges of being an “older woman”.

She discusses the way people try to stay young with mad diets and Botox, how memory and figure go and how on-line dating can bring excitement to the lives of the over 65s.

Susie Kennedy has delighted audiences over many years with her hugely successful musical plays and jazz/blues reviews including the unforgettable ‘You Can’t Deep Freeze A Red Hot Momma’. Her exuberant presentation of the saucy songs of Sophie Tucker have endeared her to audiences nationwide and set her apart as a unique performer.

As Time Goes By proves that, indeed, you can’t deep freeze a red hot momma. Susie Kennedy is back at the Viking Theatre and she’s as delightfully bold as ever.
