THE band that “stole the show” at the Electric Picnic, according to 2FM, are live at The Academy Dublin on Saturday, April 8.
The King Kong Company has had an incredible year. A couple of weeks after their Electric Picnic highlight, the band was handed the ‘Best Live Act 2016’ award from Pure M Magazine.
A week later they signed a European record deal that will see their debut album distributed in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg by Caroline International, a subsidiary of Universal Music.
The same week as signing the deal, they sold out The Academy in Dublin when more than 800 heads showed up for what turned into something of a celebratory session.
Never a shower to rest on their laurels, King Kong Company has taken a couple of months off from their gigging routine to work on new material and a shiny new stage show for 2017. The first opportunity to get a fresh slice what KKC have to offer will be when the King Kong Crew return to The Academy in Dublin on Saturday, April 8 for what is guaranteed to be another massive night.
The band will be premiering some raucous and raw tunes, bringing the stage antics up a notch or two as they introduce a couple of guests to swing through the rafters with them. This will be a gig not to be missed.
For all the King Kong Company crew, it felt like 2016 was the year of the monkey, but it’s quite possible that 2017 might become the year of the ape.
The King Kong Company are live at the Academy Dublin, on Saturday, April 8. Tickets (€15) including booking fee are on sale now from Ticketmaster.
