Whiskey Live Dublin
If you like a drop of the hard stuff, check out Whiskey Live Dublin this Saturday (November 5). Taking place at Dublin Castle, Printworks, on Dame Street it consists of whiskey tasting sessions and wonderful food pairings and cocktails provided by some of Dublin’s most esteemed bars and restaurants.
There’s an afternoon session from 1.30-5pm and an evening session from 6-9.30pm. Tickets costing €45 from www.whiskeylivedublin.com include eight drink samples and one food sample from each pairing.
Marxism 2016 – The Left Arrive
There’s not many political festivals but this one happening from November 4-6 claims to be Ireland’s largest, and who are we to argue?
There’s a whole host of international speakers discussing topics such as Black Lives Matter, Palestine, Climate Change, Socialism in Ireland, the EU and more.
Visitors can take part in the discussions, and, as the organisers say, illuminate the path out of the capitalist abyss towards a society we can all have a stake in.

Dame Stuffy’s Evening of Movies & Musicals
Returning with her third show at axis, Ballymun, Stuffy is back for a November treat that is sure to heat the crowd up for winter.

Beatles Day
Revolver by The Beatles is celebrating its 50th year. In order to mark this birthday in style, Beatles Day will take place at the Workman’s Club in Dublin this Saturday, November 5.
The highlight of the celebrations will be a live performance of Revolver by REVOLVER from Scotland – followed by a second set of them playing other songs from The Beatles.

MoRunning
MoRunning is back in Dublin this weekend. ‘Tache up and dash for cash this Saturday, November 5 in the Phoenix Park (10am start).
Have fun and raise money for men’s health. The eighth annual 5k and 10k MoRuns are completed while rocking moustaches and fancy dress to raise funds and awareness for the Movember Foundation.
Over 1,000 Dublin runners donned fancy dress and dug deep to help raise awareness and funds for Movember last year.
MoRunning is calling on Dublin to rock everything and anything from a moustache to a wacky wig and get involved with its 2016 fun run.

Battle of the Somme exhibition
An exhibition entitled ‘Dublin Remembers: Stories from the Somme’, has opened at Dublin City Library and Archive, 138-144 Pearse Street.
The Battle of the Somme was a key Allied offensive during World War I. It began on July 1 1916 and when it ended 141 days later over one million men had been killed or injured. This included the loss of over 3,500 Irish born soldiers.
The exhibition focuses on personal stories of individual Irish men who fought at the Somme between July and November 1916, mainly serving with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
The exhibition is open to the public until December 23 from Monday-Thursday 10am-8pm, and Friday-Saturday 10am-5pm.
Dalkey Players
Following their 2016 All Ireland Drama Festival runner-up success, the Dalkey Player’s autumn production had to be something special.
Dalkey’s own playwright Hugh Leonard would have been 90 years old in November this year, so his Tony Award winning Play ‘Da’ seemed an appropriate way to celebrate one of his best works.
The talented cast includes 2016 award winners Alan Nuzum (winner of four best supporting actor awards this year) John Walsh one of their longest standing members, Alan Stewart, (two acting awards) plus stalwart members Geraldine McGrath, Colm Kearns, Cyrileen Power plus newcomers Emmet Driver and Roisin Scully.
It runs in theTown Hall, Dalkey from Tuesday, November 15 to Friday 18 at 8pm.

Art Source
Irish art lovers have the unique chance to get their hands on 100 pieces of original artwork for €100 at Ireland’s premier art fair Art Source, which will be held at the RDS from November 11-13.
Over 15,000 people are expected to view exhibits from artists across all genres in the year’s biggest art show.
And there is an opportunity for visitors to the show to own a piece of original artwork in Art Source’s unique 100 for €100 project, with pieces available on a first-come first-served basis.
Art Source features over 120 contemporary artists and 30 Irish and international galleries gathering together to showcase painting, sculpture, photography, illustration, prints and ceramic art.
