THINGS are really hotting up for Sea Sessions 2016 with the announcement of the day headliners for Ireland’s biggest beach party.
Friday sees English rapper, singer, producer and general Renaissance man, Tinie Tempah, get the party started.
He’s got a string of hits already under his belt and his latest single, ‘Girls Like’, sounds like another summer monster.
Rock ’n’ roll legends Primal Scream keep things going on Saturday night. An absolutely cracking live band, they’ve just released a brand new album, ‘Cha-osmosis’ to go along with their already impressive catalogue of 10 albums. One of Ireland’s fastest rising stars, Gavin James, finishes things off on Sunday night.
Tickets are available from all Ticketmaster outlets nation-wide at www.ticketmaster.ie andwww.seasessions.com priced from €99.50 for three days and €124.90, including four nights’ camping. There’s also limited day tickets available from €47.50 and VIP upgrades from €50 extra.
Some of the acts that have previously played Sea Sessions include Paul Weller, Bastille, Seasick Steve, Example, Kelis, The Happy Mondays, Fat Freddy’s Drop and many more.
Ray O’Donoghue, festival director, said: “We think there’s a real diversity to the line-up this year and we’ve programmed it to fit in with people’s mood for the weekend.
“Upbeat Friday, rock ’n’ roll on Saturday and a little more chilled on Sunday. Primal Scream are one of our favourite bands of all time. ‘Screamadelica’ is a hands down classic album of all time. Tinie is a superstar and we look forward to bringing him to Bundoran, where we hope he surfs, and Gavin is a superstar in the making.”
Sea Sessions is about much more than just music, though. There’s surfing, skating, BMXing and even ‘Beach Olympics’.
Anne Marie Conlon, head of communications for Donegal County Council, added: “Sea Sessions represents everything great about Bundoran and indeed Donegal, from the stunning scenery to the night life and the very special way of life that’s enjoyed in the North West.”
Sea Sessions runs from June 24 to 26.
