MCD have announced that Coasts will be playing Whelan’s on Saturday, July 30.
This five-piece, who met while at university in Bristol, are proving to be a band who are relentlessly on the rise.
A growing body of songs has been earning them huge amounts of praise among the music community and beyond. Their anthem track ‘Oceans’, has seen millions of plays on Spotify and has sold over 100,000 copies on iTunes alone.
‘A Rush of Blood’, a lead track from their debut album, was premiered by Zane Lowe calling it “absolutely huge”.
Non-stop touring in 2014 and 2015 included smash sets at Glastonbury, Coachella and Lollapalooza, as well as sold out shows in New York and London at prestigious venues such as The Bowery Rooms, KOKO and Bush Empire.
Having been backed as ones to watch by the likes of iTunes, Spotify and BBC R1, they have been receiving a rapturous reception Stateside and are being hailed as the next “huge British band”. Coasts live shows have become a cult phenomenon with 2016 set to host the band’s biggest live shows to date.
This looks like being the year that Coasts, Britain’s hardest working band, make their major breakthrough following the release of their debut album.
