RETIREES in Dublin recently attended the Marigold Festival in Airfield, Dundrum hosted by Active Retirement Ireland and local organisation, Home Instead Senior Care.
The event shares the latest insights into how to live a healthy and active life no matter what age you are.
Retired RTÃ? broadcaster Anne Doyle served as the ambassador for the festival. The renowned journalist, presenter and newsreader retired in 2011 and her support of the Marigold Festival is a reminder that even though our lifestyle may change in our older years, there is still plenty of opportunity to live a fun, full and active life.
Dementia care specialist, Molly Carpenter, was also on hand to discuss dementia care at home and the recent publication of Confidence to Care, a resource for family caregivers providing Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia care at home.
This is the first book published by the home care provider and it is available to purchase from Amazon.co.uk. All proceeds will be donated to dementia-related causes and charities.
“At Home Instead Senior Care we believe in living life to the full,
? said Hugh McGauran, Owner and Managing Director of Home Instead Senior Care in Nutgrove.
“The Marigold Festival saw people who are young at heart come together and celebrate a day of health and wellness. We are delighted to be working with Active Retirement Ireland to bring this fun-packed, yet informative day to retirees neighbouring counties and look forward to next year’s event.

Deirdre Patel of Active Retirement Ireland, added:
“Dublin has a vibrant community of retired and semi-retired people and we are delighted to host this very special festival. I hope every person who attended, no matter what their age, enjoyed the day but learned something new that could help to transform their life in some small or major way.
“The Marigold Festival is a celebration of life giving local seniors the chance to enjoy a fun day out, showcasing the fact that a full, active life is possible no matter what your age.
