DURING the month of April, a Northside woman combined her two passions to raise money for a local charity.

Carrie Brown, from Swords, is an executive member of Snowflakes Autism Support, and a big fan of TRX, a suspension training total body workout.

Carrie, with the help of her friend and trainer, Louise, of Louise Quinn Fitness, undertook the arduous challenge of completing 24 hours of TRX during April, to raise funds for Snowflakes Autism Support and, more importantly, to spread awareness of autism spectrum condition.

World Autism Awareness Month was in April, and it also marked the first year anniversary of when Carrie took her inaugural TRX class so she was able to celebrate both occasions.

Midway through the month, Carrie was joined by her fellow committee members, as well as some friends and Snowflakes members at Platinum Gym in Balbriggan for a group TRX session.

Carrie successfully completed her challenge on April 29 and, in the process, raised over

?¬1,700 for Snowflakes Autism Support.

On behalf of all the members, the Snowflakes committee would like to thank Louise Quinn and Platinum Gym in Balbriggan for their support and generosity.

More importantly, they would like to thank Carrie for her amazing feat and for raising funds and awareness for Snowflakes Autism Support.

Set up in 2012, by a group of parents of children with autism, Snowflakes now supports over 140 families in the Greater Dublin area.

The group organises events for families affected by autism and provides support for families both pre and post diagnosis.
