THOUSANDS applied, 110 faced the back of the chairs at the blind auditions, 56 made it to the Battles, 36 made it to the Knockouts, 12 made it to the quarter final, eight to the semi final, four to the final – and the overall winner was a Northsider.
Patrick Donoghue, from Donnycarney, can look forward to a bright future after being crowned
‘The Voice of Ireland’ winner for 2015.
Since early January when the fourth series of
‘The Voice of Ireland’ started, Patrick, an employee of Dunnes Stores, produced stellar performances weekly on the hit RTE show which captivated audiences every Sunday night.
For his efforts, Patrick won a recording contract from Universal Ireland, and along with the other three finalists, was given the opportunity to release his favourite song of the series on iTunes.
Una Foden, one of the competition’s judges, mentored the talented singer throughout the series.
During his
‘Voice of Ireland’ journey, Patrick brought Una to Dunnes Stores to show her how to use the till and stopped by his old stage school where they sang together for local kids.
Renua Ireland TD for Dublin Bay North, Terence Flanagan, was among those who offered congratulations to Patrick following his stunning success at The Helix.

“He has an amazing talent and I enjoyed tuning in each week to hear him singing.
