Coolmine Therapeutic community gets a new chairman

Coolmine Chief Executive Officer Pauline McKeown with new chairman, Alan Connolly

COOLMINE Therapeutic Community, the Dublin 15 based centre dedicated to helping people overcome addiction problems, has appointed a new chairman.

Alan Connolly, a member of the Audit Committee of the Governing Body of the Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, and a member of the Audit Committee of the Local Government Management Agency takes over from previous chairman, Brian Ward.

Connolly described his appointment as

? that would allow him to work with a strong team and to contribute to the work of Coolmine.

“I have seen first hand the inspirational work of Coolmine and how it changes the lives of over 1,000 people every year,

? he said.

“Six in every ten clients remain drug-free two years after therapy and many clients who come through our services return to society as beneficial members.

“I am committed to Coolmine’s ethos that everyone should have the opportunity to overcome addiction and look forward to meeting the demand of the future.

Coolmine’s Chief Executive Officer, Pauline McKeown, said:

“Alan will bring a whole new dimension to our organisation through his leadership and I look forward to working with him to develop and evolve Coolmine’s next strategic plan.

Operating for over 40 years, Coolmine Therapeutic Community provides residential care for those struggling with addiction. It’s the oldest therapeutic community in Ireland, offering treatment for both alcohol and drug abuse.
