THE Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) expects to distribute gifts to over 100,000 families this Christmas.
Last week, employees of alarm company, PhoneWatch, were hard at work at the SVP warehouse in Dublin, joining the charity’s staff and volunteers in sorting and packing Christmas parcels for distribution across the country this Christmas.
In support of its Christmas Giving Tree Appeal, PhoneWatch matched employee gift donations and purchased specifically requested gifts, to help alleviate the financial burden the season places on many struggling families. Lynn Drumgoole, Commercial Director at PhoneWatch, said:
“SVP provides practical assistance to families in every county throughout Ireland not just at Christmas but throughout the year.
“We are delighted to support them in their fantastic work, and particularly with their annual Christmas toy appeal.
?
Geoff Meagher, National President at SVP, thanked the PhoneWatch staff for not only choosing SVP as its charity of the year but also for its practical support at Christmas.
“This type of support is vital in helping our 11,000 volunteers provide assistance all year round for the many families that are struggling to meet the cost of even their basic needs,
? said Mr Meagher.
