A NORTH county Dublin amateur photographer and motorcycle enthusiast has been named as one of the grand winners of a national snapping contest.

Martin Bailey, from Balbriggan, was recently announced as one of the 12 winners of motorcycle insurers Carole Nash’s photo-biking contest.

Organised and ran in partnership with specialist rider magazine Motorcycle News,

‘Moto Foto’ aimed to fuse two of Britain’s most passionate pastimes: motorcycling and photography.

The competition’s inaugural edition received over 2,000 entries.
Martin, a student and keen biker himself, entered his picture into the competition’s action category.

The 22-year-old will now see his photo feature in Carole Nash’s official 2015 calendar.
Martin said he couldn’t believe it when he heard the news.

“I was already happy with being one of the 120 finalists, but being picked as one of the winners and have my work feature in Carole Nash’s calendar, that’s just amazing,

? he said.

“It’s spurred me on to take my hobby to the next level.

Rebecca Donohue, Head of Marketing at Carole Nash, said:

“We’ve been overwhelmed with the number and quality of the entries.

“There are some really fantastic biking photographers out there, but in the end Martin’s snap just had that little extra that makes the difference.
