A DUBLIN 15 model has won
‘1st runner up’ prize in a Ms Ireland Pageant for single mums that was held in the Greenhills Hotel & Leisure Centre, Limerick, on November 22.
Vilija Gramanskaite, (33) from Ongar, claimed the runner up prize, as well as the much sought after title of
‘Style Queen 2015’.
Although only competing in pageants since August 2014, Vilija has enjoyed great success. A native of Lithuania, she won a Ms Dublin title earlier this year and also competed in the
‘Summer Sparks’ pageant competition with
‘European Team Ireland’, claiming
‘Miss Congeniality’ and
‘Best Hairstyle’ titles in the events run by Ireland Pageants. As well as modelling, Vilija enjoys photography, art and fashion, and is mother to two young daughters, Eva (5) and Cindy (4). She also designs clothes and does some voluntary work for the Dogs Trust charity.
Vilija came to Ireland in 2004 and has lived in the Dublin 15 area for seven years. Asked of her plans for 2015, she said she would
“just take it easy for a while
?, and concentrate on photoshoots.
Founded in 2012 by Jennie Lynch, Ireland Pageants began as the Miss Teen Ireland Pageant, before expanding to include Junior Miss Ireland, Collegiate Miss Ireland, Ms Ireland and Mrs Ireland.
The Ms Ireland Pageant consists of four rounds; interview, fashion wear, swimwear and evening gown. Ireland Pageants seeks to cater for women who cannot compete in other Miss Ireland competitions. Winners of the pageant can expect a modelling contract and a fantastic prize from the pageants’ sponsors. Overall winner of Ms Ireland 2015 was Christina Kammerer from Cavan.
