JOE Dolan lookalike Alan McGrath is putting a band together to pay tribute to the legendary Mullingar singer.
Singing sensation Alan (43), a taxi driver from Balbriggan, not only bears an uncanny resemblance to the late showband crooner, he also sounds like him. He has performed as his musical hero in local venues over the years, to great reaction from audiences, and has even recorded an album of Dolan songs.
“People have been at me for years to take the Joe Dolan act to the next level and I’ve finally decided to bite the bullet,
? explained Alan.
“Everybody I know refers to me as Joe.

Alan knows the Dolan family well and even met the man himself down through the years.
“I went to many of his concerts,
? he added.
“At one point I needed more security around me than he did due to the number of fans approaching me at his shows.
