MICK Clohissey, from Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club, has made the shortlist of nominations for the 2014 National Athletics Awards, which will take place on November 26 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin.
Clohissey has been nominated for the Endurance Athlete of the Year award based on his spectacular performances throughout 2014.
The local star proved his versatility winning national titles on the road, track and cross country. He won the national half marathon title, the 10,000m title on the track and the prestigious 12k Inter Club Cross Country title.
Fionnuala Britton, Brendan Boyce and Paul Pollock join Clohissey in the Endurance category.
The National Athletics Awards are being held in association with GloHealth and Emerald Crystal,
The awards ceremony is a celebration of the many successes of Irish athletes during 2014 and it also commemorates the exceptional volunteer base which is the bedrock of the sport.
