A NORTHSIDE stage school is presenting a brand new musical next week.
On Thursday, October 30 Eclipse, based in Kilbarrack, will stage
‘GONE! But Never Forgotten’, at the O’Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College.
The musical, which has been especially written for the group, will see all 90 current students star along with guests Emma Barry (51 Shades of Maggie), Philip Kennedy (Voice of Ireland) and the school’s director Kenneth Giles.
The show is based on a talent agency about to go bust due to the recession but they must find a way to keep the business on its feet.
The audience will see potential talents vie for their chance at stardom with many twists and turns along the way.
The show features music from the biggest icons of all time, mostly made up of deceased legends hence the show’s title,
‘GONE’.
All the students will take to the stage for this debut performance and are aged from four up to 20-years-of-age. Some have been with the school since its inception seven years ago.
The group has continued to grow due to their ambitious nature and hard work which has seen them pick up some high profile gigs in the business.
Last December Eclipse performed on stage at Croke Park in front of over 15,000 people at the
‘Stars, Choirs and Carols’ event. The group raised the roof and hit the headlines after making appearances on RTE and in various national newspapers for their performance.
Eclipse recently performed at Tolka Park during half time at a charity football match and on November 1 will perform as guests at the National ShowChoir Championships of Ireland.
Director of Eclipse, Kenneth Giles, told Northside People:
“This show is another one of a kind for the school and something completely different to what we have done in the past.
“It’s important to keep everything fresh for students to keep their interest alive and help their talent flourish even further each year. This will definitely be a night not to be missed.
