A LOCAL youth organisation has come up with an innovative way to tackle a shortfall in funding.
Ballymun Regional Youth Resource (BRYR) works for the welfare and development of 10-24-year-olds in the area and has a mission to help them play a part in building a stronger Ballymun community.
The not-for-profit charity provides services to hundreds of locals but like most youth services in the city, its funding has been dramatically cut in recent years.
In response, BRYR is hosting a special fundraising night later this month and is calling on the community to support the event so it can continue to deliver its vital services.
The Strictly BRYR Dance Extravaganza takes place on October 24 at The Regency Hotel and while it promises to be a great night of fun, there’s a serious message behind the event.
“Our ability to continue to operate our service into 2015 is very much reliant on this event,
? said fundraising committee member, Eimear Whitfield.
BRYR has already managed to get the support of local politicians, including Dublin North West TD, John Lyons (Lab) and former Lord Mayor Andrew Montague (Lab) as well as business leaders like local SuperValu Owner, Robert Murphy
Strictly BRYR takes place on Friday, October 24 at The Regency Hotel. Doors open at 7pm and the event for over 18s.
