MINISTER for Social Protection, Joan Burton TD, visited the children and teachers of Gaelscoil an Chuilinn last week to help kick start 2014’s Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations.

approval for two new Junior Infant classes for this September to help meet demand for Irish language based education in the area.
A new 16-classroom building has also been sanctioned for the 2015-16 school year and will be built in Tyrrelstown. Junior infant places are still available for parents interested in enrolling their child for September 2014.
Speaking during her visit, Minister Burton said:
“It is such a pleasure to see how quickly this school is establishing itself in the local community.
“It’s vitally important that we continue to provide a platform for education in the Irish language and I’m very proud to have been asked here today to help launch Seachtain na Gaeilge with the pupils of Gaelscoil an Chuilinn.

Fergus Ã? Conghaile, principal of Gaelscoil an Chuilinn added:
“Our children are thriving in this wonderful new school and we are lucky to have such great parents supporting us.
“Gaelscoil an Chuilinn is a very young school and it is a privilege to be able to extend the opportunity to learn
‘as Gaeilge’ to as many pupils as we are able.

There are only 22 pupils currently enrolled in each of the incoming Junior Infants classes, with spaces still available to those interested in securing a place in the Gaelscoil.
