Ryanair video takes off

Singer Antoinette Dunleavy wrote and sang the vocals for the track, ‘With You'.

RYANAIR unveiled its 2014 cabin crew charity calendar recently and launched a behind the scenes video to go with it, which is proving to be a sensation.

The video, featuring the calendar stars on the beaches of Crete, has gone viral, racking up over 600,000 hits in less than two weeks.

DJs and production duo, Chris Browne and Paul Byrne (The Control Freakz’), from Swords and Raheny respectively, who produced the killer soundtrack, are no strangers to the Irish dance scene having headlined some of the biggest venues around the country in recent months.

But they’ve picked up a global audience thanks to the Ryanair video, which features two of their tracks.

“We were approached by Ryanair to create a track for the cabin crew charity video,

? the duo told Northside People.

“It’s such a great cause and the calendar is so well known.

“We got straight in touch with our good friend, Antoinette Dunleavy, who wrote and sang the vocals for the track, called

‘With You’, which we finished off in a short space of time.

“We were delighted with how it turned out and it fits really well with the video – it has a real summer vibe and it’s picking up thousands of views every day.

Ryanair have been producing a charity calendar since 2008, raising over $600,000 for six different charities in the process. This year’s sales and video views are breaking all previous records.

Robin Kiely, from Ryanair, said:

“The 2014 Ryanair cabin crew charity calendar is on sale now on board our flights and from our website, and all proceeds will go to Teenage Cancer Trust in the UK.

“We’re hoping to raise another $100,000 for this worthy cause and the response has been phenomenal, where we’ve sold 5,000 calendars in record time.

“Last year’s video got 450,000 views in a year – this time around, we’ve hit 600,000 views in a fortnight and

‘The Control Freakz’ have given it the perfect soundtrack.

It’s the latest in a long line of hits for The Control Freakz, who have had their tracks played in clubs all over the world by the likes of Fatboy Slim, Roger Sanchez and Boy George, to name but a few.

During the summer, they supported the Bingo Players to a sold out Wright Venue in Swords and played to over 5,000 clubbers in the Red Bull Electric Ballroom Arena at Oxegen, for the Headphone Disco.

And Chris, who runs his own production studio, and Paul who works for FM104 and East Coast FM, are just back from the A.D.E. Conference in Amsterdam, where they showcased their tracks to some of the world’s biggest record labels.

“We hope to have some big releases for 2014,

? they added.

“And Antoinette has recently recorded a track with David Morales and DJ Meme, which is due out early next year.
