MEMBERS of a Northside fitness centre got more than their hands dirty when they took part in a recent fundraiser for St Francis Hospice, Raheny.

Uniskulpt, based in Harmonstown, held the Run-a-Muck event at a cross-country course in County Kildare.

The Uniskulpt team was aiming to clean up by raising e5,000 for the Hospice which will be doubled by a generous benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous.

St Francis Hospice is a charity close to the hearts of team members at the gym and provides a specialist palliative care service for the people of North Dublin city and county.

Eric Dolan (27), from Ayrfield, opened Uniskulpt in October 2012 after seeing the potential for a new fitness facility in the area.

One year on Eric and his dedicated fitness troops braved the trenches, streams, mud, nets and bridges at Run-a-Muck all for a great cause and a lot of fun.

Eric’s passion for fitness has become infectious with the local community including the children from the Harmonstown Community Centre who love learning about fitness and boxing.

“I believe in a more personal approach to training and I’m especially proud of my members for some of their huge achievements,

? said Eric.

“Seeing how far they’ve come makes us all feel really proud.

Eric leads free Saturday morning runs at 9.30am to Dollymount Beach and everyone in the community is welcome. His motto for the day:

‘No one gets left behind’.
