SCHOOLS across the city are being asked to sign up for this year’s MS Readathon.
The annual event raises funds for MS Ireland to help the charity provide one-to-one support, physiotherapy and respite for hundreds of multiple sclerosis sufferers in Dublin.
The Readathon encourages pupils from both primary and secondary schools to read from October 11 to November 11 while raising much needed funds for MS services. Last year 96 schools in Dublin took part in the initiative.
Paul Dietrich of MS Readathon said his organisation was aiming to get as many children and young people as possible immersed in reading during the month.
“This in turn has a positive impact on literacy, and the focus on reading books opens up a world of adventure, characters, plots and fun,
? he said.
“Students in Dublin City and County should be proud of their achievements during last year’s MS Readathon and we very much hope that they will participate again this year. along with many more young readers.
