Health promotion event is good fit for Dublin

FREE events targeted at inspiring communities to promote healthy and active living have been announced.

The events, being run as part of the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund Roadshow, are taking place in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick starting this week.

The Dublin roadshow event will take place at 12noon on Tuesday July 2 at Croke Park.

Personal trainer and TV personality Karl Henry will share a wealth of tips about building more activity into your everyday life.

The events are free to attend and open to all members of the public.

In addition to the tips and information attendees will also learn about the availability of e125k for non-profit organisations across Ireland.

The funding is available to those who have ideas around implementation of programmes in their communities to inspire people to live more balanced, active and healthy lifestyles.

Karl Henry said:

“I’m really looking forward to meeting people around the country to give them some tips and advice on how easy it is to build activity into their own and their communities everyday lives.

“These events are free of charge and I’d encourage everyone to avail of the opportunity to come along and learn something new.

Mr Henry pointed out the added incentive of the

?¬125k.

“This is a large sum of money and I’m hoping that through the roadshow events we’ll be able to inspire some new ideas for the funding,

? he added.

The Thank You Fund is seeking proposals from organisations who take an innovative approach to encouraging communities to lead more balanced, healthy and active lifestyles.

The overall winner will receive

?¬25,000 and a further 10 organisations will receive

?¬10,000 each. Attendees at the each roadshow event will learn how best to go about applying for the funding.
