Ramp repairs sought as matter of urgency

FINGAL County Council has been urged to repair ramps on roads in a number of estates in Sutton as a matter of urgency.

Dublin North East TD Tommy Broughan (Lab) said residents of Sarto Park, Sarto Lawn, Verbena Avenue and Alden Park have contacted him to complain about the ramps.

“They are crumbling away and posing a danger to motorists and pedestrians,

? stated Deputy Broughan.

“After raising the issue with Fingal County Council, I was informed that the ramps on roads in Alden/Verbena, Bayside Walk/Sutton Park and Sarto Park were included on the remedial list for ramp repairs for 2013.

“I was also informed that the works have gone out to tender and are due to begin in the coming months.

Deputy Broughan has called for the ramps to be repaired without delay.

“It is obvious to any observer that the very poor condition of the ramps poses a danger to motorists and pedestrians and the council cannot ignore this problem,

? he added.

“It is welcome that the ramps will be repaired but I would hope that this work is completed as soon as possible.

A spokeswoman for Fingal County Council said the issue with ramps was not confined to the Sutton area alone but has affected other areas in Fingal.

“Our works programme has a schedule of repairs to address this problem,

? she told Northside People.
