LOCAL transition year students have taken recycling to new levels with this ingenious fashion statement modelled by Aisling Comiskey from St Michael’s in Finglas.

Aisling is wearing a dress made from video tape, Avon catalogues and freezer bags that she created along with fellow students, Kayleigh Hutch and Shannon Keenan.

The girls’ creation has reached the national final of Junk Kouture, a competition that challenges teenagers to create fashion from junk, and are hoping for success when the awards are handed out on Friday (April 19) at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

St Michael’s is proving to be a real hotbed of talent as another student, Emma Brady, was chosen as a senior finalist in this year’s

‘Doodle for Google’ competition.
