THE crème de la crème of Irish stylists are sharpening their scissors and blending their colours ahead of a sniptacular spectacle this weekend.
The prestigious Irish Hairdressing Championships will be held at the City West Hotel, Dublin, this Sunday March 10 and will showcase over 500 creative looks from Ireland’s
‘cream of the chop’.
Ahead of the competition, organised by the Irish Hairdressers’ Federation, Mark Heatley, owner of
‘Mark’s Barbers’, Artane, displayed his incredible styling swagger on handsome model, Ludo DeAngelis, with a slicked back style, showing off the skills that won him the renowned title of IHF Barber of the Year at last year’s awards.
The Oscars of Irish hairdressing will see more than 300 hairdressers from across Ireland battle it out to win one of the coveted titles which include the ultimate accolades IHF Irish Hairdresser of the Year and Irish Barber of the Year.
With an estimated 2,300 hair salons in Ireland employing close to 15,000 people, the Hairdressing Championships are the definitive awards for the Irish hairdressing industry.
The championships have showcased the creative talent and artistic work of Irish hairstyling professionals for almost 40 years.
The Championships consist of 13 categories, ranging from basic skills in
‘Cut and Colour’ to the elaborate
‘Creative Fantasy’ and
‘Full Fashion’, and promise to be an awe-inspiring spectacle for visitors.
Greg Clarke, President of the Irish Hairdressers’ Federation, said:
