STUDENTS at a north county Dublin school recently participated in a three-day debating competition organised for second level schools throughout the country.
St Joseph’s Secondary School, Rush students – Alex Farrell, Anthony Daly, Ruby Towers, Noelle Leonard, Conor Carey, Eric Healy, Bryce Ndjatang, Keith Maughan, Rosalie Adamou, Caoimhe Leonard, Luke Hosford and Jack Cummins – participated in Model United Nations (MUN), hosted by the International Relations Society in University College Cork.
The Rush students won four awards at the MUN, two for Best Delegate and two for Runner-Up.
Based on the format of the United Nations, it explores topics of global interest and requires participants to actively generate resolutions to such issues.
School Principal at St Joseph’s, Patricia Hayden, said they were very proud of all their students who took part in the event.
“It is a great achievement for them and I would like to pay tribute to the hard work put into the project by all involved,
? stated Ms Hayden.
