FINGAL’S Age-Friendly initiative has joined forces with the Helix to create a special bargain package to encourage grandparents to bring their children to a traditional panto.

The Beauty and the Beast grandparents offer is available for performances on Thursdays January 3 and 10 at 7.30pm and for Saturday and Sunday evening shows at 5.30 on January 5, 6, 12 and 13.

The price of

?¬17.50 per ticket is a saving of

?¬7.50 on an adult ticket and

?¬3.50 on a child’s.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the different generations of a family to have a great time together,

? said Catherine McGuigan of the Age Friendly Counties Programme.

The Helix is located on the age-friendly campus of Dublin City University and the theatre designed the Grandparents Christmas treat as part of their contribution to this year’s European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity Across The Generations.

Starring Voice of Ireland finalist Kyle Kennedy as The Beast, and the lovely Lauren Nevin (The Tudors, Fair City) as the beautiful Belle, the panto is guaranteed to tickle audiences funny bones.

Grandparents tickets can be booked by calling Anne Hughes on 01-7007131 or by emailing anne.hughes@thehelix.dcu.ie.
