The announcement that the Government is to provide

?¬3.78 million in funding to the City and County Enterprise Boards to fund job creation projects was welcomed by Northside city councillor, Gerry Breen (FG).

“This additional funding is provided in response to specific requests from Enterprise Boards to meet identified demand,

? Cllr Breen explained.

“The funding is additional to the

“Some

Cllr Breen added that a significant number of jobs in Ireland are held in small, local enterprises.

“These local businesses play a key role in helping to restore our economy to a healthier footing,

? he stated.

“I am encouraged that the Government recognises this and nationally has allocated e3.78 million to 30 Enterprise Boards around the country.

Meanwhile, Deputy Sean Kenny (Lab) has welcomed the announcement of 50 new jobs in the technology industry.

The jobs will be created by LogMeIn, a leading provider of cloud computing and mobile services.

The new office, located on Dublin’s Quays, will provide positions in customer support, marketing, and finance.

“Cloud computing is a key sector of the technology industry which the Government has targeted in the Action Plan for Jobs,

? Deputy Kenny said.

“The Government has implemented a number of changes to support the development of a strong cloud computing industry here.

“Dublin is a great location for European expansion by technology companies, given the unique combination of a highly educated workforce, and a growing innovation scene made up of some the biggest names in technology.
