‘Ah Leave It Out’ fame visited a north inner city school last week to help the children learn a bit of Irish.
Every week the 4th class in St Laurence O’Toole’s CBS, North Wall, prepare a Frása na Seachtaine (phrase of the week) for the school to learn.
To help everyone learn the phrases of the week 4th class often make a short video with the help of special needs assistant (SNA) and film whizz Andy Radley and class teacher Sarah Stafford.
Since Ann became famous all the kids are going around saying
‘Ah, leave it out’.
Fourth class came up with the great idea to translate
‘Ah, leave it out’ into Irish for the
‘Frása na Seachtaine’. So they came up with
‘Ah, fág amach é.’
Then they asked Ann would she come into the school and star in their Ah fág amach é/Ah, leave it out video. Good sport Ann was happy to oblige.
All of Ann’s children and grandchildren have attended the local St Laurence O’Toole’s schools and Ann, whose story featured in Northside People recently, has been a great supporter and regular feature of the schools for many years.
