A SPOOKTACULAR treat is in store for locals at two fun festivals in Ballymun and Finglas on Halloween night.
The Otherworld Ballymun Festival – themed this year as Dracula’s Big Night Out – takes place at 5.30pm at the Ballymun Civic Plaza.
Organisers are expecting crowds of up to 5,000 who will be entertained with live fireworks, music, dance performances, circus acts and a parade that begins in Poppintree and finishes at the Festival Village at the Civic Plaza.
This will be the 12th Ballymun festival and this year all the fun will be screened on Dublin Community TV over the UPC network on Channel 802 and on the internet.
Meanwhile, the Finglas Halloween Festival will be taking place at the Civic Centre on Mellowes Road from 6-9.30pm.
This will be the seventh Finglas Festival and over 4,000 took part in last year’s event.
A Halloween marquee will be erected in Finglas Village from 11am to 5pm where activities will be held throughout the day for both young and old.
The festival parade begins at St Canice’s Boys School at 5.30pm and it’ll be led by the Finglas Concert Band followed by local community groups.
Evening highlights include music, the Tunnel of Terror, a carousel, bouncy castles, face painting and an Audi A4 Simulator.
The main attraction will be a spectacular fireworks display which takes place at 8pm at the rear of Finglas Civic Centre.
