THERE was further good news on the employment front last week when a US marketing software provider announced that it is opening its new European headquarters in Dublin with the creation of 150 jobs.
The announcement at HubSpot follows hot on the heels of the previous week’s news that arvato Finance has moved into new premises at Eastpoint Business Park, which will result in 100 jobs as part of an expansion plan.
HubSpot is expected to locate its new offices in Spencer Dock and will be recruiting in the areas of sales, marketing, account management and support.

Dublin Central TD Paschal Donohoe (FG) was among those who welcomed the news.
“It is a further strong endorsement of the city’s ability to act as a base for leading IT companies,
? he said.
“Every time there is a jobs announcement of this nature, when a leading international IT firm chooses Dublin as the location for expansion or a new operation, there’s a hugely positive knock on impact on the city’s potential to attract future investments.
“HubSpot is enjoying incredible growth of 200 per cent per year, so it couldn’t be coming to Dublin at a better time.

Deputy Donohoe said that under the Action Plan for Jobs, the IT sector has been identified as having considerable growth potential and Dublin is fast becoming one of the leading IT hubs in Europe.
“As well as this, the Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton TD, has established a Clustering Development Team for the digital games sector to drive the creation of 2,500 jobs over the next two years,
? he added.
“The digital, gaming and online sectors have major job creation potential and will play a vital role in our recovery.
