Tallaght musician to take on Vegas

RIGHT NOTE: Stephen Leeson has seen his music career soar in just over a year.

A TALLAGHT musician is on his way to Las Vegas this month where he will perform a number of gigs with his band.

Stephen Leeson has seen his music career soar since he launched it just last year.

The determined musician spent a chunk of his time this summer gigging in Killarney with Derek Warfield and The Young Wolfetones.

And his endeavours have paid off big time as he’s now set to take on the bright lights of Vegas having landed a gig for 12 nights in the prestigious Mandalay Bay Hotel, Las Vegas with his band.

“I’m living the dream – 12 gigs in Las Vegas is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any artist worldwide,

? said Derek.

“I love music, people and performing. Another door has opened and I am diving in head first and I couldn’t be happier to do so.

Leeson has notched up a successful career in the past year, having played with some of the music world’s finest Irish musicians.

He has sung with Finbar Furey, the late Barry McKenna, Paddy Sweeney and Frances Black.

In February this year, Leeson’s album

‘Isle of Hope’ was launched in a number of top music stores nationwide.

The album has received great acclamation from renowned musicians in the folk industry.

Speaking about Leeson’s huge successes in the past year, Irish music legend Davey Arthur said:

Leeson will set off to Vegas on September 17 and his gigs will run until the end of the month.
